Festive Feasting 🍴

Hello Everyone,

For my friends in North America, halloween is just around the corner. Aisles of supermarket are stocked with “sugar” loaded chocolates and candies. Passing by these aisles make me hyper and rushed. I wonder what the little ones go through after the night of trick or treating.

The artificial colours of candies and cupcakes makes me sick. I wonder what they do inside the body πŸ™„πŸ™„. My dentist friends get so excited this time of the year as they get lot of caries and tooth decay cases post holiday season. Adults get drunk and make long list of new year resolutions, and always first resolution is “go to gym” or “lose x lbs”.

Please do not relish on empty calories.

For my Indian friends, Diwali and it’s delight are a few days away too. We clean up the house and everything that is not touched since last Diwali. We make snacks and buy loads of sweets for ourselves and our loved ones.

This year, I request you all to not to force anyone for having sweets specially if you know they are diabetic, have cholesterol issues or are overweight. Instead share fruits, nuts, seeds and dried fruits in their natural forms. A dark chocolate (70% or more) is also a good idea.

My point is, if you won’t care and understand your loved ones needs then who would? Just for sake of traditions you don’t have to eat a lot of sweets or savory treats and please don’t justify feasting by saying “it’s once in a year thing”.

If you loved this please do share!!

Happy Holidays πŸŽƒπŸŽ‡πŸŽ†πŸŽ„

Love,

Neha 🍎
